Day 1 - The builder's are here

After a great but busy weekend away at the coast we realised rather late on Sunday night that the builder's were arriving tomorrow and we hadn't quite cleared the garage. Cue setting the alarm extra early and dragging our bleary selves outside at 7am today to move the remaining stuff (paint, surf boards, strimmers and trimmers) down to the garden storage area, previously known as the greenhouse.

The digger delivery arrived at 7.15am followed shortly after by our foreman Shaun and the rest of the gang.

Off came the garage door and by lunchtime most of the garage and the chimney was gone along with the phone line! They'd accidentally put a brick through the cable while removing the chimney. BT were called and promised to sort it out by the end of the day but thankfully the guys managed to bodge it back together so my internets were restored.

The back patio has come up too and the slabs are stacked neatly on what used to be my veg patch.


We think we might use them for the side path in the 'new' house.



By the end of the day the builders were soaked from the downpour and there was a full skip out the front, the first of many...


and some boarding and safety rails to stop us falling down the holes!
